Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and securing new business opportunities for the firm. The role requires a proactive and highly motivated individual capable of building strong client relationships, generating leads, and successfully closing deals to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the firm.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, research, and strategic outreach.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Present the firm’s services to potential clients in a professional manner.
- Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, and follow-up communications.
- Negotiate and support the closure of business deals and partnerships.
- Meet agreed business development and revenue targets.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and provide periodic business development reports.
- Work independently while coordinating with management on strategic opportunities.
- Represent the firm professionally in meetings, networking events, and online engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, or any relevant Social Science field.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience in business development, sales, marketing, or client relationship management.
- Proven ability to generate business leads and close deals successfully.
- Experience in consultancy, HR services, or professional services will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge or understanding of Human Resource practices will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools.
