Overall Responsibility

The Data Analytics role will support database and systems development, including designing and developing databases, participating in testing and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing systems, and supporting the institutionalization of analytics tools within programme data systems such as eLMIS, SmartCare Pro, QAT and PCMT.

The role will produce dashboards, analytical reports and data products that inform performance monitoring and decision-making at national, provincial and hub levels, including supply-chain performance. It will also support data cleaning, write SQL queries for donor reporting, M&E and routine decision-making, support data-quality audits and end-use verification surveys, and provide technical input on data, analysis, presentations and information requests.

The position will also work alongside government data staff to strengthen their capacity in data analytics and use, and provide capacity-building support and technical assistance on the use of analytics tools such as Power BI.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science or a related field required.
  • Specific training in database management an advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in business-intelligence tasks, database design, development and management.
  • Experience developing Power BI solutions and reporting, data visualization and analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL to extract and manipulate data for reporting and decision-making.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or other advanced quantitative fields.
  • Experience with dataset ingestion, data-model creation, dashboards and KPIs.
  • Experience with ETL processes and building data marts.
  • Experience with programme data systems including eLMIS, SmartCare Pro, QAT and PCMT, among others.
  • Experience supporting data-quality audits and verification surveys.

Technical and Behavioural Competencies

  • Able to take ownership of deliverables and adapt to changing priorities and data requirements.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to use innovative analytical approaches and technologies to solve problems and generate actionable insights.
