JOB DETAILS:
Our client, a leading player in the construction industry, is seeking a skilled Earth Roller Operator to join their team. The Earth Roller Operator will be responsible for operating heavy compaction machinery used in the preparation of construction sites, particularly for roadworks, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Safely and efficiently operate Earth Rollers to compact soil, gravel, and other materials per project specifications.
• Conduct pre-operation and post-operation checks on the Earth Roller, ensuring all mechanical systems (engine, hydraulic, fuel) are functioning optimally. Report any faults or malfunctions immediately.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to ensure seamless operations and effective use of machinery on-site.
• Follow technical instructions (site plans, blueprints) to achieve the required compaction levels and surface quality.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, ensuring both personal and team safety on site. Monitor the operational environment for any hazards and mitigate risks where possible.
• Maintain accurate logs of machine usage, compaction levels, and any maintenance performed. Report on daily progress as required.
• Continuously monitor the compaction process to ensure that it meets required specifications and tolerances, making adjustments to equipment settings as necessary.

Qualifications
• Education: Minimum of Grade 12
• Certification in Earth Roller Operation or any other recognized heavy machinery qualification.
• A valid driver’s license (preferably for heavy machinery) is essential.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in operating Earth Rollers or similar heavy equipment in construction, roadworks, or civil engineering projects.
