Responsibilities or duties

• Plan and deliver lessons that prepare learners for the transition to the Intermediate Phase (Grade 4), with a greater emphasis on independent work and higher-order thinking.
• Place strong focus on achieving grade-level benchmarks in reading, writing, and mathematics before learners move to the next phase.
• Introduce more formal examinations and continuous assessment tasks.
• Emphasise project-based and research-based learning to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure learners are confident in applying literacy and numeracy skills across all subject areas.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Minimum Diploma in Education or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Education is an added advantage.
• Specialisation in Early Childhood Development or Junior Education is an added advantage.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and ICT skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience needed
• Two (2) years' teaching or classroom support experience.

• Successful candidates will receive training in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme as part of Atlas Primary School's professional development programme.
