GROUP PROJECTS AND MAINTENANCE ACCOUNTANT (1)
The Required Skills for the Role Include:
- Developing, monitoring and enforcing budgetary controls for OPEX and CAPEX, and ensuring alignment with objectives
- Conducting variance analysis on actual Vs. budgeted expenses, and ensuring deviations are within ±5% each of the approved budgets
- Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives in procurement, inventory, and manufacturing operations to optimise profitability.
- Overseeing the entire procurement cycle, ensuring cost-effective and timely sourcing of materials and services.
- Developing and maintaining vendor evaluation criteria, ensuring 95% compliance with quality, cost, and service-level agreements (SLA
- Approving and tracking purchase orders (LPOs), ensuring timely reconciliation of supplier payments.
- Implementing and maintaining inventory control systems to track stock levels, reduce wastage, and prevent pilferage
- Ensuring inventory accuracy above 98%, conducting regular stock audits and reconciliations.
- Analysing material usage trends and implementing strategies to enhance cost efficiency in block-making and construction projects
- Monitoring production costs, ensuring they remain within budget and identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Ensuring timely reporting of financial performance to senior management, providing actionable insights.
- Ensuring full compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and statutory financial regulations.
- Developing and updating financial control policies related to procurement, inventory, and project costing.
- Identifying financial risks related to procurement, inventory, and CAPEX spending, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Adhering to all company health & safety policies.
The Required Qualifications are:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor of Accountancy, ACCA/CIMA/CA Zambia or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar role with knowledge in Finance/Administration
- Working knowledge of Pastel or related packages will be an advantage
- Must be a Member of ZICA
