About the Agronomy Internship Position
The successful candidate will play a key role in selecting appropriate trial sites and cooperators, establishing and managing agronomy and research trials, as well as collecting and analyzing data. You will support demonstration plots and product launches, assist with quality control and harvesting, and provide technical support to emerging farmers. This internship also involves close collaboration with sales representatives and customers to promote value-adding partnerships within the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities for Agronomy Internship Jobs in Lusaka
- Select suitable sites and cooperators for agronomy trials
- Establish and manage agronomy and research trials effectively
- Collect and report data from Impact (Research) and agronomy trials
- Support high-profile expo plots and product launch events
- Inspect and report on the quality of demos and trials managed by sales representatives
- Assist with harvesting activities in agronomy trials
- Train sales representatives and customers on agronomy practices
- Identify and support emerging farmers with technical agronomy advice
- Promote and participate in value-adding collaborations and partnerships
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related discipline
- 0 to 1 year of relevant working experience
- Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of agronomy principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Membership in the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ) is an advantage
