Background

China Copper Mines Limited is located in Fitula Mimbula, Chingola town, Copperbelt Province

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul heavy mining equipment including crushers, conveyors, drills, and mills.
• Perform routine inspections, oil changes, component replacements, and belt alignments to prevent breakdowns.
• Inspect, test, and repair high-pressure hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
• Use gas and electric welding equipment to rebuild worn machine parts and structural components.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, and rigging gear to move heavy machinery components during shutdowns.
• Investigate repeating mechanical failures to find permanent technical solutions and reduce future downtime.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
• Advanced ability to read mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and pneumatic blueprints.
• Proficiency using precision tools like micrometers, dial indicators, and torque wrenches.
• Grade 12 certificate.
• Curriculum vitae.
• Valid silicosis.
