As a Crusher Operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate and monitor crushing plant equipment safely and efficiently. You will ensure the continuous production of aggregate materials that meet quality and volume targets while complying with all safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities for Crusher Operator Jobs in Kalumbila

  • Operate primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing equipment following standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor crusher performance, conveyor systems, and associated plant equipment to maintain optimal throughput.
  • Ensure consistent feed to the plant to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct pre-start inspections, routine checks, and basic maintenance activities.
  • Identify, report, and assist in troubleshooting mechanical and operational faults.
  • Maintain product quality by monitoring material gradation and adjusting crusher settings as needed.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in line with housekeeping standards.
  • Complete accurate log sheets, reports, and shift handover documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding plant performance.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in crushing plant operations or a similar industrial environment.
  • Experience in mining or aggregate processing operations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PC7 and HMI plant monitoring packages is a plus.
  • All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

  • Strong knowledge of crushing plant operations and material handling processes.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment functionality.
  • Ability to interpret plant conditions and respond appropriately to operational variations.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures, lockout/tagout systems, and hazard identification.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Safety-conscious mindset with reliability and discipline to work shifts.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial environments.
  • Proactive and adaptable to changing operational conditions.
