National Breweries PLC is seeking a highly motivated, safety-conscious and results-oriented Packaging Team Leader to lead packaging operations, drive operational excellence, and achieve production, quality, cost and safety targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead packaging operational teams to achieve production performance targets.
- Coordinate and execute production plans and monitor line performance.
- Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, losses and stock reconciliation.
- Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Promote compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Facilitate team meetings, employee development and performance management.
- Ensure proper administration and reporting systems are maintained.
- Build and maintain positive industrial relations and teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2–3 years relevant experience in a beverage, packaging, FMCG or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Good interpersonal skills and team player.
- Effective communicator, sober minded, hardworking and possessing problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of packaging processes and operations within a beverage or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of packaging equipment including fillers, cappers, labellers and associated utilities.
- Ability to monitor production performance using FE, ME, downtime and loss KPIs.
- Working knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, Quality Standards and HACCP requirements.
- Knowledge of autonomous maintenance principles and equipment defect escalation.
- Understanding of safety management systems, hazard identification, risk assessment and permit-to-work requirements.
- Ability to interpret production plans, SOPs and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone Analysis.
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
- Strong planning, coordination, leadership and communication skills.
