REPORTS TO Assistant Director of Engineering

Job Summary

• Perform all installation, maintenance and repairs related to PPR/UPP/PVC/UPVC/GI/BI and fire piping networks.
  
• Ensure sumps/pump plant rooms and grease traps are in good operational
  
• Replacement of bearings in pumps.
  
• Repair and cleaning of plant rooms and grease trap as required
  
• Perform minor masonry works
  
• Ensure water wastage is reported and repaired as necessary.
  
• Ensure energy saving measures are always in place and if wastage or leaks are observed that this will be reported immediately to the attention of the HOD.
  
• Ensure Health and Safety is practiced and in place.
  
• To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department appearance standards.
  
• To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
  
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other department
  
• Maintain the hotel Internal and externally in your qualified trade to the desired standard.
  
• Ensure correct spares are used for all jobs requirements.
  
• Daily cleaning of workshops, maintaining log books and initiating necessary follow-up with any pending requests.
  
• Ensure that plant rooms and related areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  
• Complete work orders as requested by the Senior Manager/Supervisor to meet customer requirements and operational needs
  
• Involve and carryout any project work required throughout the hotel.
  
• Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
  
• Carry out the preventative maintenance as per given guidelines to the satisfaction of the department.
  
• Ensure all PPM is completed in a timely manner and as and when required by the department.
  
• Carry out and assist in all Plumbing and piping related maintenance and repairs of equipment as and when requested by the department.
  
• Maintain all plumbing distributions and equipment to the optimum standard.
  
• Demonstrate flexibility in changing the shifts and continue extended duties as per the necessity in event of emergencies and as requested by the department
  
• General building maintenance repairs are carried out as per the needs of the department 
• Report any damages/maintenance requirements/suspected abuse of equipment/Fire Life safety/negligence/arson to the HOD and or DOE immediately.
  
• Carry out routine plumbing maintenance and repairs to all types of equipment such as laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, hot /cold and drainage distribution networks.
  
• Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
  
• Responds to a guest maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.

Technical Skill Capabilities
Qualifications: Vocational skills or 5 years ‘experience as Plumber.
