Background
The Zambia Entrepreneurs’ Park & College (ZEP/ZEC) in Rufunsa, supported by the Furrer Foundation, is a fast-growing vocational and professional training institution dedicated to equipping students with practical, industry-relevant skills. We are expanding our team and invite a qualified, passionate, hardworking, detail-oriented and motivated individual to fill the following position:
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging classroom and practical workshop lessons in Power Electrical.
- Train students in electrical installation, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure safe use of electrical tools, equipment, and workshop facilities while enforcing occupational health and safety standards.
- Assess student performance through practical exercises, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, training materials, and assessment tools aligned with TEVETA competency-based training standards.
- Supervise practical sessions and ensure workshop equipment is properly maintained.
- Mentor students by providing academic support, career guidance, and industry best practices.
- Keep abreast of developments in electrical engineering technology and integrate current industry practices into training.
- Collaborate with other instructors to improve programme delivery and student outcomes.
- Prepare students for TEVETA certification examinations and employment opportunities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 Certificate, a Craft Certificate, Diploma, or higher qualification in Power Electrical, Electrical Engineering,
- Certifications: Must possess a valid TEVETA Accreditation Certificate and a recognized Teaching Methodology qualification.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to deliver Competency-Based Training (CBT) in line with TEVETA standards.
- Excellent lesson planning, assessment, and student evaluation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage practical workshops safely and effectively.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
- Must be Business Oriented (entrepreneur)
