RECRUITMENT OF RANGER III (B3) X31
Interested qualified and experienced candidates are invited to report at Hwange Main Camp on the 18th of February 2026 to undergo a rigorous selection process for the above positions which have arisen in Northwest Matabeleland Region at Matetsi Unit 1 and Unit 5. Successful incumbents will be reporting to the Senior Ranger.
Duties of the Position: shall include the following:-
- Carry out anti-poaching patrols as directed.
- Monitoring illegal activities fire and water management.
- Capture and translocate animals.
- Collect data whilst in the field patrol and other management activities.
- Collect information on illegal activities and submit such information for strategic planning
- Attend to problem animals and plant invasive species.
- Carry out day and night patrols of premises.
- Participate in other law enforcement duties.
- Ensure that all offenders are brought to book.
- Accompany and monitor hunts in the park.
- Provide information to members of the public on how to deal with animal/human conflicts.
The Person: The ideal incumbent should possess the following:-
- GCE Ordinary level,
- Knowledge of Parks Estate environment and basic understanding of the behavior of wild animals.
- Physical fitness
- Strong interpersonal skills, professional, mature, openness and collaborative skills
- Aged between 18 and 30 years.
Selection criteria
- Interested eligible candidates must report at Hwange Main Camp on the 18th of February 2026 at 0700hrs
- Physical test which involves (10km run in 45 minutes for male candidates and 1hour for female candidates).
- The first 100 participants will qualify to the next selection stage which will be pushups, sit ups, chin ups and oral interview to select the best 31.
Items to bring
All candidates to bring their original national identification cards, academic and professional certificates, detailed CVs and written applications.
Suitable clothing for physical fitness testing (running shoes, shorts, t-shirts). A water bottle.
All candidates to bring their own food.
NB: Candidates will be required to complete an indemnity formto go through the preselection & selection process
