You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve national sales targets and expand the company’s customer base. The role involves leading and mentoring a team of regional sales executives, analyzing market trends, and driving business growth through effective distributor/channel partner management and retail execution.

What you will actually do:

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Forecast sales volumes across regions and product categories.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, market expansion, and product penetration.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate regional sales executives and their teams.
  • Set performance targets and regularly monitor achievements.
  • Identify training needs and ensure capability building within the sales team.
  • Develop a robust distribution network across urban and rural markets.
  • Manage relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and stockists.
  • Ensure optimal availability and visibility of products across all retail channels (GT/MT).
  • Drive execution of trade promotions and in-store activities.
  • Ensure effective use of sales automation tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor and control sales budgets, discounts, and schemes.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Analyze sales trends and market share to identify potential risks/opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights to product and marketing teams.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and business performance reviews to top management.
  • Ensure timely data collection from the field and proper reporting structures.

What you Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Sales/ Marketing /or Commerce.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales.
  • Strong knowledge of Africa’s FMCG distribution and retail ecosystem
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively
