Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and enforcing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies across the Organisation to ensure zero-harm operations.
- Implement and monitor OHS policies, protocols, and safety guidelines on the production floor.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Ensure full compliance with Zambian labour laws and statutory safety regulations.
- Facilitate regular safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills for staff.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or mining.
- In-depth knowledge of Zambian OHS legislation and guidelines.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Valid first aid and fire safety certification is an added advantage.
