Position Overview
The Sales Growth officer drives loan portfolio growth by leading, training, and managing a high-performing team of field sales agents. This role focuses on expanding market reach, ensuring high-quality loan acquisitions, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Recruit, onboard, and continuously train a team of commission-based or salaried field sales agents.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets for individual agents and the team.
- Conduct regular field visits with agents to monitor performance, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with lending policies.
- Motivate the team through performance incentives, recognition, and strategic guidance.
Sales & Portfolio Growth
- Develop and execute field-based sales strategies to acquire new microfinance clients and groups.
- Monitor key performance metrics, including disbursement volumes, active client growth, and cross-selling targets.
- Identify new market segments, business clusters, and community networks to expand the company's footprint.
Risk Management & Quality Control
- Ensure sales agents conduct thorough preliminary screenings of borrowers to maintain low non-performing loans (NPLs).
- Collaborate with the credit and risk teams to streamline the loan application, approval, and disbursement processes.
- Assist in the early-stage recovery and follow-up of delinquent accounts managed by the sales team.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare detailed weekly and monthly sales performance reports for senior management.
- Track market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to recommend product adjustments.
Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in, microfinance, or insurance, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
Skills: Strong leadership, field coaching, numerical analysis, communication, and negotiation skills.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of microfinance products, field-based group lending methodologies, and local regulatory frameworks.
Attributes: High emotional intelligence, target-driven mindset, and willingness to travel extensively in the field.
