JOB DETAILS:

Summary: Responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of a specific underground or surface mining section. Directly supervises all crew members and activities within the section.
Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of miners, operators, and other crew members.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations (e.g., MSHA, OSHA).
• Plan and assign daily tasks to meet production targets and development goals.
• Inspect the work area for hazards and ensure a safe working environment before and during shifts.
• Monitor equipment availability and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
• Complete necessary reports, including production data, safety inspections, and incident reports.
• Conduct pre-shift safety meetings (Toolbox Talks).
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching for crew members.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in underground/surface mining.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of mining methods and safety standards.
• Required certifications (e.g., Mine Supervisor Certificate, First Aid/CPR).
