About the Programme

The Youth on the Move (YOM) Programme is a global initiative delivered through a partnership between Migration Youth & Children Platform (MYCP) and UNICEF to create more inclusive and accessible pathways for migrant and displaced youth to engage in international development and humanitarian work. Originally launched in 2022 as the Youth on the Move Fellowship pilot, the programme was co-designed to address the barriers many young people on the move face in accessing professional opportunities due to legal, financial, and administrative challenges.

Following the success of the pilot, UNICEF and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme launched the UNICEF UNV Youth on the Move Programme, with MYCP continuing as a key implementation partner supporting mentorship, capacity building, alumni engagement, and youth participation in migration and displacement policy spaces. The 2026–2027 cohort will support Youth on the Move UNVs across Kenya, Uganda, Iraq, Colombia, Sudan, and Myanmar through mentorship programmes, Skills Accelerator sessions, development roundtables, and professional development opportunities.

The role requires a highly proactive individual capable of building collaborations, sourcing and managing facilitators and mentors, designing engaging learning experiences, and ensuring all activities align with the programme’s inclusion and empowerment goals.
