Background
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Auto Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical faults, carrying out repairs, and conducting routine maintenance on vehicles, generators, and motors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and identify mechanical faults in vehicles manually or through computerized diagnostic systems.
- Conduct maintenance and repair works on generators, motors, and gensets.
- Perform routine servicing on gensets and motors, including oil changes, lubrication of moving parts, and tightening of bolts and nuts.
- Replace damaged, worn-out, or faulty mechanical parts and components.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Provide technical support and recommendations on vehicle and generator maintenance.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to quickly identify and resolve mechanical faults.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools and computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Innovative mindset with willingness to learn and adapt to new repair technologies and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Physically fit and willing to work in remote or outskirt locations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Test or Craft Certificate in Auto Mechanics or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ relevant work experience in vehicle and generator maintenance.
- Must be willing and able to work outside town when required.
- Candidates from Lusaka or Chongwe Districts will have an added advantage.
- Male candidates are preferred for this role.
