Job Purpose

The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and securing new business opportunities for the firm. The role requires a proactive and highly motivated individual capable of building strong client relationships, generating leads, and successfully closing deals to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the firm.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, research, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Present the firm’s services to potential clients in a professional manner.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, quotations, and follow-up communications.
  • Negotiate and support the closure of business deals and partnerships.
  • Meet agreed business development and revenue targets.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and provide periodic business development reports.
  • Work independently while coordinating with management on strategic opportunities.
  • Represent the firm professionally in meetings, networking events, and online engagements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, or any relevant Social Science field.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience in business development, sales, marketing, or client relationship management.
  • Proven ability to generate business leads and close deals successfully.
  • Experience in consultancy, HR services, or professional services will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge or understanding of Human Resource practices will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools.
