BUTCHERY CASHIER (3) – NATIONWIDE

Responsibilities for this Role include:

• Receiving and processing customer payments accurately using cash registers or POS systems.
• Issuing receipts, refunds, and change correctly to customers.
• Ensuring all butchery products scanned match customer purchases and pricing.
• Maintaining accurate daily cash balances and reconciling tills at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Promoting excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers professionally.
• Handling customer queries, complaints, or pricing concerns politely and escalating where necessary.
• Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the cashier area at all times.
• Assisting in monitoring stock movement and reporting pricing or stock discrepancies to management.
• Supporting promotional activities and upselling of butchery products.
• Following company procedures relating to cash handling, fraud prevention, and security.
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene, food safety, and health and safety standards within the butchery environment.
• Assisting with filing, record keeping, and preparation of daily sales reports.
• Working closely with butchery staff and supervisors to ensure efficient customer flow and service delivery.
• Performing any other duties assigned by Management.

The Required Qualifications are:

• Grade 12 Certificate (with passes in 5 subjects).
• Certificate or training in cashiering, business administration, or retail operations is an added advantage.
• Previous experience in retail, supermarket, or butchery cashier operations preferred.
• Experience using POS systems and cash registers.

Working Conditions:

• Required to stand for long periods during shifts.
• May work weekends, holidays, and shift schedules.
• Works within a refrigerated and busy retail butchery environment.
