1. Background
Impuls Africa Limited is an agriculture and development consulting firm providing technical assistance, project implementation, research, enterprise development, monitoring and evaluation, and advisory services to donor organizations, NGOs, private sector partners, and development institutions.
The firm currently manages multiple donor-funded and implementation projects simultaneously and is responsible for maintaining strong financial systems, donor compliance, project budgeting, financial reporting, and internal financial management processes.
To strengthen financial management systems and support organizational growth, the company seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, donor reporting, project accounting, compliance, budgeting, and financial controls across all projects and company operations.
2. Position Purpose
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the overall financial management of the organization and its projects. The role will ensure accurate accounting, donor compliance, project financial tracking, timely reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and strengthening of internal financial systems.
The Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting for multiple donor-funded projects and provide management with timely financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

4. Deliverables
The Finance Manager will be expected to deliver:
- Accurate monthly financial statements.
- Timely quarterly donor financial reports.
- Monthly project budget vs. expenditure reports for all active projects.
- Annual organizational budget and financial forecasts.
- Updated cash flow projections.
- Audit-ready financial documentation.
- Improved financial systems and controls.
- Timely statutory and tax compliance submissions.
5. Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Full or partial professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, CPA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 3 years’ experience managing donor-funded projects or NGO finances.
Required Experience
- Experience preparing donor financial reports and managing project budgets.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with donor compliance requirements and audit processes.
- Experience with consulting firms, NGOs, development programs, or implementing partners.
- Experience with financial management software and Excel-based reporting systems.

The Finance Manager’s performance will be assessed based on:

- Timeliness of payments and financial processing.
- Accuracy of cash flow forecasting.

8. Duration
This is a [12-month/renewable] position subject to performance and organizational requirements.
10. Preferred Added Advantage
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working with international donors and development agencies.
- Knowledge of NGO and donor financial compliance systems.
- Experience supporting project proposal budgeting and cost recovery models.
- Experience in agriculture, livelihoods, climate resilience, or community development projects.
