JOB ADVERT – MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
United Gypsum Investments Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Maintenance Mechanic – Heavy Equipment (Hydraulic Systems Focus).
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechanic with strong experience in hydraulic pumps and hydraulic systems for heavy-duty mining and earthmoving machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment to ensure high availability and safe operations at the mine site.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and service hydraulic pumps and systems on heavy equipment
- Maintain machinery such as excavators, front end loaders, ADTs, graders, and dozers
- Conduct preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Inspect hydraulic hoses, valves, cylinders, and pump assemblies
- Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults quickly and effectively
- Maintain maintenance records and report major defects
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and workshop procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Craft Certificate /Advance Certificate/ Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or related field
- Proven experience working on hydraulic systems of heavy-duty machines
- At least 3–5 years practical experience in mining, quarry, or construction equipment maintenance
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic pumps, pressure systems, and diagnostics
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a demanding environment

- Attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset
- Ability to respond to breakdowns under pressure
- Good teamwork and communication skills
