Job Overview

The Senior IT Officer will be responsible for ensuring efficient, secure, and reliable operation of UMINO’s IT systems and digital platforms across all branches. The role focuses on maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting digital lending systems, and enabling operational efficiency through technology.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT support or systems administration
• Strong knowledge of networks, hardware, and cybersecurity
• Practical experience installing, servicing and developing company networks incl. cloud solutions
• Experience with MIS platforms (e.g., Musoni) is an added advantage
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and strong client centricity
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

1. IT Systems Management and Support
   
   • Maintain and support IT systems and applications
   • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
   • Provide technical support to staff and mgt/board
   • Install and configure hardware, software and cloud services
   • Find, select and manage external IT vendors
2. Network and Infrastructure Management
   
   • Monitor and maintain network connectivity
   • Ensure reliable communication across branches
   • Procure IT equipment, together with Procurement
   • Manage IT equipment and inventory
3. Data Management and Reporting
   
   • Ensure data accuracy in systems
   • Support reporting and data extraction
   • Implement backup and recovery processes
4. IT Security and Compliance
   
   • Draft, implement and enforce IT security policies
   • Protect systems from cyber threats and client data phishing
   • Support audits as a respondent to the IT part
5. Systems Improvement
   
   • Recommend system improvements
   • Support digital transformation initiatives
   • Train staff on IT systems

Line Management & Reporting

The Senior IT Officer reports to the COO/CEO and collaborates with all departments.
