Our client, a leading organization in the conservancy sector, is seeking to hire a Senior Liaison Officer (Consultant) to join their team in Lusaka. This exciting role will involve both office-based responsibilities and up to 50% fieldwork in Kasempa.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Liaison Officer (Consultant) to represent senior management at the local level in the Lunga Luswishi Game Management Area (GMA). The role is pivotal in addressing pressing conservation challenges, including encroachment, illegal hunting, fishing, and mining.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization on behalf of senior management in addressing conservation and community issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior DNPW and government officials.
- Engage with community stakeholders, including traditional leaders, Community Resource Boards (CRBs), and local residents.
- Conduct extensive fieldwork to monitor and mitigate illegal activities within the GMA.
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting on field conditions and stakeholder engagements.
- Collect and analyze data relevant to conservation priorities.
- Facilitate effective communication between management, government, and community partners.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in government or community liaison.
- Demonstrated experience working in rural areas with NGOs or government institutions in Zambia.
- Extensive fieldwork experience, including camping and working in areas with limited connectivity.
- Valid driving license.
