Job description:
Purpose
To provide a hygienic work environment by ensuring waste transportation from various sources to storage and disposal sites is done per the Company policy. To help coordinate work relating to the rehabilitation of disturbed areas.
Key Responsibilities
- The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and regulations about health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- Drive and inspect all the routes to ensure no waste is dropped on the roads during transportation.
- Draw the required chemicals and tools from the warehouse and distribute them to needy areas.
- Chlorinate all sewer effluent spills and leaks to avoid contaminating the environment.
- File all the invoices related to waste management and rehabilitation accordingly.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, rules, guidelines, and instructions to avoid any incidents/accidents.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by superior company officials empowered to exercise authority over him/her.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification: Grade12 Certificate
- Class ‘C1’ SADC driver’s licence
Experience
- 3 years of similar experience
BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage own work properly
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical: Intensive driving and standing most of the time
- Oral: Oral contact with relevant personnel
- Written: Written skills are essential in preparing reports.
- Hazards: Exposure to fecal sludge and various biohazards.
