Yalelo is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and hard-working individual to work as a Compliance Officer.
The Compliance Officer is responsible for safeguarding company assets through effective monitoring of stock, enforcing compliance standards, and ensuring security of operations. The role integrates stock control, CCTV surveillance, outlet compliance, and investigations to minimize risks of theft, fraud, and non compliance across Yalelo’s operations.
Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures
1. Stock Control & Reconciliation
- Monitor stock receivables, reconciliations, and movements across distribution centres and outlets.
- Validate documentation for harvest, dispatch, transfers, and gate passes.
- Ensure 100% accuracy of stock movement records at critical control points (harvest, transfer, dispatch).
- Investigate and report any variances, losses, or discrepancies immediately.
2. CCTV & Surveillance
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems 24/7 in compliance with SOPs.
- Record and log all incidents and escalate anomalies to Security/Compliance leadership.
- Coordinate with patrol/response teams to verify and act on intrusions, stock handling irregularities, or suspicious activity.
- Ensure footage is retained, reviewed, and secured per company policy.
3. Compliance & Enforcement
- Enforce company compliance procedures at outlets and DCs, ensuring accountability and adherence to set protocols.
- Carry out internal compliance checks and daily/weekly audits of stock handling, access controls, and security practices.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and minimize risk.
- Collaborate with Finance, Security, and Commercial teams to ensure reconciliations align with accounting requirements.
4. Investigation & Incident Management
- Conduct investigations into theft, stock losses, fraud, or security breaches.
- Liaise with police and relevant authorities to escalate cases where criminal activity is suspected.
- Maintain proper documentation, evidence gathering, and case reporting to support disciplinary or legal action.
- Provide detailed reports on findings and ensure timely closure of cases.
5. Manage Incidents
- Implement access control measures for staff, visitors, and vehicles at facilities.
- Conduct random searches of personnel, vehicles, and goods per compliance guidelines.
- Ensure seal placement, asset locking, and proper key management procedures are followed.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents and support site security teams in real time.
The Essentials:
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate – verified by ZAQA
- Degree/Diploma in: (Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Security Studies, Information Technology / Cybersecurity, Accounting /Finance & Supply Chain Management / Logistics) – verified by ZAQA
- At least 2 years’ experience in compliance, auditing, stock control, or security operations.
- Police Clearance
- Training in security operations, internal auditing, or investigations is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and collaboration with police desirable.
