Position Title: Bank Teller/Cashier x24
Location: Chipata, Chililabombwe x3, Ndola Buteko x2, Solwezi x2, Levy, Kafue, Kitwe x5, Luangwa, Kabwe, Soweto, Mumbwa, Mulungushi x2, Lumwana, Freedom
Department: Retail and Business Banking
Reports to: Branch Operations Officer
Purpose of the job
• To be responsible for dispensing and receiving cash and related instruments including providing customer service to walk-in branch customers. .
• Key Responsibilities
• Dispenses and receives physical cash, cheques, travellers cheques, Bills Negotiated on collection, drafts and other financial instruments over the counter from walk-in customers.
• Refers any concerns to the Assistant Operations Officer or Branch Operations Officer for follow-up and decision-making on whether to proceed.
• Refers any transactions in excess of teller limits to the next level for authorization.
• Captures all transactions on the bank’s system and ensures that all transactions are properly authorized before processing them.
• Carefully counts all cash received or dispensed to ensure that errors are avoided. Investrust has a zero tolerance policy for teller errors and appropriate action will be taken, which may include formal disciplinary procedures.
• Provides advice to customers on the cash process to ensure the smooth flow of transactions. • Explains the banks procedures, security requirements (such as the requirement to provide sufficient ID when transacting) as well as services to customers.
• Informs customers of the value of using the Customer Feedback system, including explaining to customers how the bank uses their feedback to improve service.
• Identifies sales leads through reviewing income levels on customer statements, questioning customers when they mention specific needs, and referring any new leads to Customer Advisors.
• Reconciles own till cash at the beginning and end of each day, as well as when cash is restocked or repatriated during the day.
• Ensures that all transaction records are kept meticulously and in accordance with bank procedures. Makes sure such documents are available for review/control purposes when required.
• Assists with the preparation of the Branch Daily Operations Report.
• Processes MoneyGram transactions and restitutions for InvestGo cards.

Qualifications and experience
• Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ levels including Mathematics and English.
• National Accounting Technician Certificate/ZICA Technician/Diploma in Accountancy, Banking and Finance or any business related field.
• Not less than 1-year experience in a banking hall environment either as cashier or inquiries officer.
