The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, managing accounting systems, and maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role supports strategic financial planning and provides leadership within the finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with ZRA.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Monitor and control company expenses and budgets.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax returns and financial submissions.
  • Manage and review bank reconciliations and cash management.
  • Safeguard company assets through strong financial controls.
  • Assist management with financial forecasting and planning.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, ZICA, CPA, or CIMA is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and statutory requirements in Zambia.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
