Role Overview
Stallion Sapphire Consultancy is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the business with timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Zambian tax laws, statutory submissions, and accounting best practices, coupled with hands-on experience in financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and management reports.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation, PACRA, etc.).
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring prompt invoicing, collections, and payments.
- Process payroll accurately, including statutory deductions, and ensure timely remittances.
- Support audits (internal and external) by preparing required documentation and responding to queries.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Maintain compliance with Zambian tax laws, accounting standards, and company financial policies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers on financial matters as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ZICA/CIMA/ACCA part-qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant work experience in accounting and statutory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws, payroll administration, and statutory obligations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
