About the role:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant with 3-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting expertise, be well-versed in Zambian accounting standards, and have knowledge of cross-border financial regulations. We are looking for a creative, adaptable, and success-driven professional who can contribute to the financial growth and compliance of our organization.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Zambian regulations
  • Manage tax filings, VAT, PAYE, and statutory returns in accordance with ZRA requirements
  • Handle cross-border financial transactions and ensure compliance with international standards
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations
  • Assist in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit processes
  • Collaborate with management to optimize financial performance and cost efficiency
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) or an equivalent professional body
  • Additional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) will be an advantage
  • 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate or auditing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws, IFRS, and GAAP
  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions and international accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel, SAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
