Background information about the job or company:
The Agribusiness and Business Development Expert will support farmer groups and agribusinesses with strategic business planning, market development, and investment readiness. He/ She will provide technical assistance in developing bankable proposals, building entrepreneurial capacity, and facilitating access to financial services such as matching grants and credit lines. The expert will also strengthen market linkages, support product development and branding, and coordinate capacity-building initiatives across value chains. With broad experience in sales, marketing, finance, and operations, the expert will play a key role in enhancing competitiveness, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable agribusiness growth.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Support farmer groups and agribusinesses with strategic business planning
- Provide technical assistance in developing bankable proposals
- Strengthen market linkages and support product development
- Coordinate capacity-building initiatives across value chains
Qualifications or requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Agribusiness and Commerce, Management, Marketing, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years in FMCG sales and marketing, ideally within agribusiness
- Proven experience managing a sales team
- Experience in managing a sales force is an added advantage
- Background in business counselling and sales coaching, including facilitation
- Demonstrated experience in market assessment, analysis, research, or similar roles
