The Workshop Manager will be responsible for implementing preventive maintenance schedules, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Effectively guide and supervise the productive workshop staff in order to ensure achievement of workshop targets. Take charge of allocating and planning workshop jobs so as to ensure achievement of service revenue budgets/targets. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and allocate workshop sublet jobs to ensure quality standards & timely completion of assignments.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all agricultural machinery, vehicles, and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, yellow machines, feed mixers, planters, land preparation equipment, sprayers, and broadcasters.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement, ensuring that necessary parts are available when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, maintaining a safe working environment for all workshop staff.
  • Supervise and mentor mechanics, drivers, and workshop staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel usage and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization, implementing changes that drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Advise & assist in the sourcing of local suppliers for workshop consumables as well as identifying the appropriate stock levels.
  • Facilitate effective communication on repair orders, defect reports, additional work done across the department in order to support smooth transaction between customer & service advisor
  • Ensure that Technicians clock on & off all repair jobs so as to prepare timely and accurate monthly reports on technician productivity, efficiency & labour utilization.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to workshop procedures as per Company standards & basic requirements.
  • Address, resolve & follow-up all customer complaints in the workshop area in a timely manner
  • Supervise Technicians, Apprentices trainings both online and in the Workshop.
  • Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Agricultural/Mechanical Engineering  or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in agricultural workshop management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong technical knowledge of agricultural machinery and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy with excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent Technical Product Knowledge.
  • Must have proven technical knowledge and capable of leading the workshop team to achieve targets
