Background information about the job or company:
Reporting to the Stores Officer, the incumbent will assist the Stores Officer operate ZCAS stores and ensure that all received stock items are properly maintained and accounted for.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Raise purchase requisitions to requisition for stock purchases and replenishments.
- Receives, inspects and verifies the quality of items received from local and international suppliers and checks for quality, damages and shortages.
- Issue stock to users against authorized stores requisitions.
- Raise the goods received noted (GRNs) when goods are received in stores.
- Ensure that goods are always in safe custody, providing protection against deterioration, damage and breakages.
- Cost stocks when they are received.
- Assist in preparation of monthly stock reports.
- Identify notes and immediately reports damaged, missing items or wrongly supplied items to the supervisor for action.
- Maintain the storeroom in an orderly and clean manner ensuring proper storage of items, especially harmful chemicals.
- Perform any other duties lawfully assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) “O” levels including English and Mathematics.
- Advanced Certificate in Purchasing and Supply.
Experience needed:
Two (2) years relevant work experience in a similar field.
Any other provided details:
- Member of the Zambia institute of Purchasing and Supply.
