Position Overview

The Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Technician will support daily insect production activities, maintain facility hygiene, and ensure smooth operational processes. The role includes modest supervision of support staff and requires strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a hands-on agricultural environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Daily BSF production processes including feeding, harvesting, and waste handling.
• Monitor environmental conditions and maintain cleanliness of the production facility.
• Record daily production data, inventory levels, and operational activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and suggest practical improvements.
• Prepare simple reports and communicate updates to management.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

• Work experience in poultry, vegetable, or fish farming (required).
• Fast learner with interest in innovative agricultural systems.
• Ability to follow structured work plans.
• Basic bookkeeping and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication skills; both spoken and written.
• Physically fit, hardworking and reliable.
• Creative, practical thinker with the ability to solve problems and work well in teams.
• Organized, punctual, and attentive to detail.
• Drivers license (desirable but not required)
