Position Overview

The Business Development & Customer Relations Officer will drive growth for the group company offering the following services:

  • website, apps, and Business system development.
  • Loan management and financial software systems.
  • Computer hardware, accessories, and IT equipment.

The role involves identifying new clients, managing relationships, securing projects and tenders, and driving business expansion strategies across these verticals. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, tech-savvy, and capable of converting opportunities into measurable revenue.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new clients for each company (software, hardware, and financial tech sectors).
  • Develop and execute business strategies to meet revenue targets across all divisions.
  • Build partnerships with institutions, NGOs, and corporate clients to expand the companies’ market footprint.
  • Prepare and submit tenders, proposals, and partnership documents that align with each company’s services.

Customer Relations:

  • Manage existing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Handle inquiries, complaints, and feedback efficiently while maintaining a professional image.
  • Develop and implement loyalty and retention programs.

Social Media & Digital Marketing:

  • Coordinate with the design and marketing team to run social media and online campaigns.
  • Promote brand visibility across digital platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, etc.).
  • Gather insights and analytics to refine marketing strategies and boost client engagement.

Reporting & Strategy:

  • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on leads, conversions, and overall business performance.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential expansion areas.
  • Collaborate with management to develop short and long-term business growth strategies.

Key Competencies & Requirements

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability in business acquisition, proposal writing, and tender preparation.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of IT products and software solutions.
  • Graphic design or content creation skills for marketing materials (advantageous).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork.
  • Valid Driver’s License (recommended) for client visits or onsite engagements.

Remuneration & Work Terms

  • Competitive base pay with performance-based commissions on secured deals or signed contracts.
  • Flexible remote working structure with mandatory onsite update meetings (weekly or biweekly).
  • Company-provided tools and resources to support lead generation and reporting.

Probationary Period

The Employee shall serve a two (2)-month probationary period from the start date.

Performance and suitability will be evaluated during this period, after which confirmation may be granted.

  • Familiar with both corporate and SME markets in Zambia and the broader African region.
  • Understands how to sell tech solutions — not just products — by focusing on value and outcomes.
