Overview
The Business Development Officer drives growth for the Cleaning and Hygiene division by securing new business, expanding market share and strengthening the company's position in facilities management sector. The role requires proactive market engagement, brand visibility initiatives and a strong focus on customer experience to support long term profitable relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth
- Identify, target and convert new business opportunities in key sectors
- Develop detailed proposals, quotations and presentations tailored to client needs.
- Build a solid pipeline and deliver monthly,quaterly and annual sales targets.
- Lead cross selling and up selling initiatives across existing client portfolios.
Brand Visibility
- Work with management to implement visibility campaigns that promote the company's cleaning and hygiene value proposition
- Showcase success stories, case studies and client testimonials to build trust and brand authority.
- Represent the brand professionally in external engagements, presentations, and digital platforms.
Customer Experience
- Conduct client onboarding needs assessments and periodic account reviews to ensure service delivery aligns with expectations.
- Resolve client issues promptly and escalate as needed to maintain a high satisfactory level.
- Support service teams with feedback insights that enhance operational delivery and retention.
Competitor Analysis
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, services innovations and market trends.
- Produce competitor intelligence reports to inform strategy and positioning.
- Recommend service improvements and differentiators based on market findings.
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reports and visit logs.
- Provide weekly and updates on sales activity conversions and market insights.
- Support preparations of budgets, forecasts and annual sales plans.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing Management or related field.
- Experience in sale within the hygiene sector
- Strong communication skills, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Proactive, analytical and comfortable managing targets
- Ability to build strong client relationships and understand operational service delivery.
Note: You should be willing to relocate around Zambia.
