Role Purpose

The Business Development Officer (Wholesale) will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities within the local market and selected export markets. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, managing a robust sales pipeline, and expanding the company’s wholesale and export footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across wholesale and export channels.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers, including HORECA, institutions, and distributors.
  • Achieve and exceed new business revenue targets in line with company objectives.
  • Lead the on boarding of new customers and ensure a smooth handover to the sales and account management teams.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and negotiations with prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline progress.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Fully registered and paid-up member of ZIM.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or key account management.
  • Prior experience within the FMCG, wholesale, beverages, or hospitality industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, negotiate, and close new business opportunities, including export markets.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with a strong commercial mind set.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required by the role.
