To lead and supervise all aspects of cable pulling operations on site, including LV, MV, and control/instrumentation cables. The Cable Pulling Lead Supervisor ensures that all cable installation activities are executed safely, on schedule, and according to quality standards and project specifications. This role is critical in supporting the electrical installation teams in achieving project milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise cable pulling teams, assigning tasks and overseeing daily operations.
Interpret cable schedules, layout drawings, and route plans to coordinate installations.
Ensure proper preparation of cable routes, including installation of cable trays, conduits, and supports.
Supervise and participate in the pulling of LV, MV, control, and fibre optic cables.
Monitor tension levels, bend radii, and protection of cables during pulling to prevent damage.
Coordinate with riggers, electricians, and instrument technicians to maintain workflow and resolve field issues.
Ensure use of appropriate cable handling and pulling equipment (winches, rollers, sock grips, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of cable lengths, pull paths, and installation logs.
Enforce strict adherence to site safety policies and permit-to-work systems.
Conduct pre-task risk assessments and participate in toolbox talks.
Ensure proper tagging, coiling, and identification of cables post-installation.
Support cable termination preparation activities and continuity testing coordination.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Trade Certificate in Electrical (Section 13 or 26D) trade competency requirements.
Strong knowledge of SANS standards, especially SANS 10142-1 (Wiring of Premises), relevant to cable installation and electrical works.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in cable installation, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Proven experience in industrial, mining, or large infrastructure projects.
Ability to read and interpret cable schedules, electrical drawings, and installation specifications.
Strong knowledge of cable pulling best practices and relevant equipment use.
Understanding of electrical safety procedures, isolation, and lock-out/tag-out systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce safe work procedures.
Physically fit to work in a demanding construction environment.
Basic computer literacy for reporting (MS Excel, Word) is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

Site-based role on a remote project location (Lumwana site).
Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Extended hours and shift work may be required based on project phase.
PPE use is mandatory; strict compliance with HSE policies is required.
