Request for Consultancy Services to Develop Standard Content for ‘Inclusive Insurance Business Modelling Fundamentals Course’
1. Introduction
The Microinsurance Technical Advisory Group (TAG Association) of Zambia is a multi-stakeholder membership-based association that plays a sector coordination and advocacy role for inclusive insurance development in Zambia.
As the Zambian insurance industry evolves, more skills and knowledge are required to sustain and grow the inclusive insurance sector. Current curriculums in insurance education do not have inclusive insurance content. Microinsurers, insurers, microinsurance intermediaries, and other persons that undertake microinsurance business or other services require fundamental skills training and development in Inclusive Insurance.
Thus, the overall purpose of the assignment is to develop content for a Microinsurance Fundamentals course that will be delivered through willing learning institutions that the TAG Association will partner with.
The consultant should also identify other existing skills gaps in Zambia and so provide a high chance of achieving the desired outcomes for would-be graduates of the Fundamentals course.
2. Objective of the Consultancy
2.1 Development of comprehensive course content on inclusive insurance business modeling course covering all fundamentals on the following modules:
• How to design and distribute inclusive insurance products; principles and practice;
• How to offer centric insurance products profitably; including bottom-line and topline business strategies for inclusive insurance;
• How to price inclusive insurance products;
• How to develop the right organizational structure and institutional culture for inclusive insurance business.
2.2 Development of Training of Trainers toolkit on how to deliver the developed course.
2.3 Deliver the Training of Trainers (TOT) training programme to the selected service provider.
3. Specific Task
The consultant/s will be expected to undertake the following activities:
• Design the training content for an inclusive insurance training business modeling course;
• Develop a training delivery toolkit for the training programme;
• Finalize and submit full course content with training guides in form of a TOT course delivery toolkit.
• Deliver the course to selected service providers in form of a Training of Trainers programme; although this will be the next phase of the assignment, it should be included in the technical and financial proposal.

Required Qualification and Experience
The consultant should;
• Provide a detailed Company profile and/or CV demonstrating their technical capability to undertake the assignment.
• Have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in relevant fields or expertise and experience in conducting similar work before.
• Have excellent writing skills with practical experience in the core requirements for a successful career in inclusive insurance.
• Must have extensive experience in designing and delivery of inclusive insurance training programmes
• Experience in delivering TOT programmes in inclusive insurance will be a plus.
• 5. Compensation
o The EOI should include a financial proposal.
o The consultant shall be paid in two installments: the first to be paid after contract signing, and the second to be paid after completion and delivery of the detailed course content/toolkit.
The Microinsurance Technical Advisory Group now invites eligible Consultant(s) with the requisite expertise to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) for the provision of this service.
