Job Purpose

The Depot Supervisor will ensure that all depot operations run smoothly as per the standard requirements of the company. Take the lea in supervising depot operations, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with safety standards

Summary of Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise depot staff and coordinate daily operations
  • Managing inventory levels to meet demand and avoid overstocking or shortages.
  • Develop an action plan based on best solutions identified during Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) solutioning discussions.
  • Develop cargo handling schedules that consider timeline and resource factors.
  • Preparing recommendations for stock orders
  • Receiving and checking stock against Tax Invoices and Orders
  • Ensuring depot maintenance and security
  • Handling customer inquiries and resolving issues
  • Coordinating with and supervising all depot staff to ensure depot objectives are met.
  • Reconciling sales, money, and returns.
  • Reporting to management on depot performance and any arising issues.
  • Overseeing utilization and maintenance of vehicles and other tools of trade.
  • Generating, tracking and reporting depot volume and non-volume KPIs
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve operational issues
  • Develop proactive resolution plans for facilities, equipment, infrastructure and system breakdown to minimize downtime.
  • Develop transportation operation schedules that consider timeline and resource factors.
  • Evaluate day-to-day transport operation’s cost parameters to determine resource requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree in Business Administration or any business-related course.
  • Minimum 4-5 years work experience in depot management or a similar position in a reputable manufacturing organization
  • Must have clean Class B or equivalent unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Must be a member of relevant professional body
