JOB DETAILS:

Background

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and agribusiness company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region. It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stock feed and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out service and repairs on all heavy goods vehicles.
• Carrying out Standard Operating Procedures as required.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
• Performing routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, etc.
• Assembling Mechanical components according to specifications.
• Examining machines and overseeing diagnostic tests to determine functionality.
• Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to Operator complaints.
• Repairing engine failures.
• Carrying out services and repairs within time specifications.
• Maintaining a clean work environment.
• Completing job reports and processing paperwork.
• Repairing or replacing parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves and bearings.
• Rebuilding parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks, and
• And other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Must have a minimum qualification of Craft Certificate in Automotive mechanics.
• Must be computer literate.

Experience

• At least a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Automotive Mechanic

Attributes

• Able to make decisions.
• Knowledge of mechanical.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Must have analytical skills.
• Able to communicate clearly.
• Experience working with DAF trucks.
