KEDA Zambia Ceramics is currently looking to recruit for a qualified Employee Relations Supervisor independently handle employee relations cases, ensuring professional management of employee discipline, labor disputes, grievances, and compliance with labor laws, thereby reducing legal and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
Handle all major employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, workplace disputes, and grievance
Prepare and issue warning letters and other disciplinary documents in compliance with company policy and legal requirement.
Represent the company in labor office matters and coordinate the handling of employee cases with relevant authorities
Compliance & Policy Implementation
1.Ensure all HR practices comply with local labor laws and internal company policies 2.Provide training sessions for supervisors and employees on company policies, disciplinary processes, and labor law compliance
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
1.Maintain accurate employee relations records and case documentation 2.Analyze employee relations trends and recommend preventive measures to management
Legal and compliance awareness:
1.Be familiar with Zambian labor laws and related labor policies, ensuring all handling processes comply with legal requirements.
2.Be able to professionally and legally manage cases when employees lodge complaints or when labor authorities are involved, protecting the company’s interests.
3.Be able to promptly follow up on violations (such as theft or failure to follow leave procedures), proactively report, and provide professional recommendations for next steps.
4.Remain impartial and decisive, not swayed by employee emotions or pressure, and enforce company policies fairly and firmly
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
1. 5+ years of experience in employee relations, with around 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
2. Proven experience in large-scale manufacturing operations (500employees)
3. Solid understanding of labor laws, disciplinary procedures, and dispute resolution processes
4.Strong communication, investigation, and problem-solving skillsa
