Overview
Marthinusen and Coutts Zambia, a division of ACTOM R and S Limited, is seeking a highly skilled Finance and Administration Manager to lead our financial and administrative operations. This senior leadership role is an opportunity to shape the financial health and organizational culture of a dynamic, industry-leading company.
Why This Role Matters
As Finance and Administration Manager, you will be entrusted with ensuring the company’s financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency, while also playing a pivotal role in people management and strategic planning. Your leadership will help us safeguard resources, drive performance, and create a thriving workplace for our teams.
Key Responsibilities in Finance
- Lead preparation, analysis, and reporting of monthly management accounts and forward forecasts for Zambia and South Africa.
- Manage month-end and year-end closure processes in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Oversee annual budgets, variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.
- Optimize and maintain robust accounting systems aligned with regulations and business needs.
- Implement strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard resources.
- Drive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Coordinate with auditors, ensuring timely audits and execution of recommendations.
- Promote cost management and efficiency initiatives across the business.
- Ensure statutory, tax, Zambia Revenue Authority, and labor-related returns are completed on time.
- Lead cash flow planning, bank and petty cash management, and weekly reporting to head office.
- Present accurate financial insights during monthly management meetings.
Human Resources and Administration
- Manage human resources and administration functions, including payroll compliance with Zambian labor laws.
- Develop and implement human resources best practices, policies, and continuous staff development.
- Draft employment contracts and offers; oversee employee relations and disciplinary hearings.
- Identify development needs and create training and coaching opportunities.
- Lead and inspire administrative staff to achieve excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Seven (7) to ten (10) or more years of proven experience in finance and administration leadership.
- Proficiency in Syspro and Smart Invoicing.
- Strong command of accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Suitable candidates must be registered members of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, as prescribed by the Accountants Act of 2008.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High-level organizational, problem-solving, and people management skills.
