Job Purpose/Mission

The Graphic Designer is responsible for bringing the ENGIE Energy Access brand to life in Zambia, creating impactful visual communications across marketing materials, activations, and social media channels. This role involves collaborating with the global marketing team (based in Uganda) and the commercial department in Zambia to develop and manage all internal and external visual content, capturing customer stories through photos and videos to showcase ENGIE’s mission of providing renewable, accessible, and affordable energy, while strengthening brand recall and enhancing the company’s presence in the local market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external agencies, art services, web designers, printers, and internal teams to produce high-quality visual content.
  • Produce creative assets for Go-To-Market (GTM) plans and other initiatives as directed by the Brand and Communications Specialist.
  • Participate in concept development and prototyping of visual content for promotions and campaigns.
  • Manage output and turnaround times according to the Creative Calendar, ensuring a minimum one-week lead time for review and approval before launch or due dates.
  • Work with the Brand and Communications Specialist to create and manage an efficient creative design process to meet deadlines.
  • Design informative or promotional materials adhering to brand guidelines, ensuring readiness for print, production, or publishing.
  • Collaborate with the Global Graphic Design Associate to strengthen the ENGIE Energy Access and Mysol brand locally.
  • Build and maintain a photo bank and image library with real-life visuals of customers and teams, ensuring accurate representation of partnerships per co-branding guidelines.
  • Support all ENGIE Energy Access Zambia departments by updating printable materials and providing creative and visual elements.
  • Support the Digital Marketing Associate by delivering fresh, engaging creative content and artwork for social media posts.

Knowledge and skills

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a graphic designer.
  • Significant experience in graphic design, typography creation, and layout.
  • Basic photo and video editing skills and customer experience (CX) knowledge.
  • Good to have: Experience in a reputable creative design or advertising agency, advanced video editing, project tracking, client services, radio/TV production, or creative buying/pricing processes.
  • Good to have: Basic proficiency with DSLR cameras, lighting kits, and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp, Asana).

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BTS training in visual communication or computer graphics.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Web and/or Graphic Design, Fine Arts (BFA) with a focus on Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Diploma or certificate in Multimedia Design, Photography, Videography, Marketing, Communications, or Web Development (e.g., web development bootcamp).
  • Advanced certification in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Adobe Certified Professional in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere Pro).

Language(s):

  • English

Technology:

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office, QuarkXPress, and Acrobat.
  • Good to have: Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Content Management Systems (CMS), Ceros, custom illustration, SEO, or audio/video development tools (e.g., Cinema 4D).
