Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Group Human Resource Manager located in Lusaka. The Group HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions for the company, including recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and HR strategy development.
Key Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company’s mission and objectives.
- Manage employee benefits, including medical insurance and pension schemes, in accordance with Zambian labour law and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with local labour laws and maintain a deep understanding of Zambian labour law and HR best practices.
- HR Management, Recruitment, and Training skills
- Performance Management and Employee Relations expertise
- HR Strategy Development and Implementation experience
- Advise on disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with Zambian labour laws and company policies.
- Manage the annual performance assessment process and provide guidance to supervisors.
- Provide HR support to staff, ensuring core business needs are met.
- Ensure new hires are adequately on boarded and trained on company policies.
- Maintain accurate and manage payroll administration for the staff.
- Securely maintain personnel and recruitment files, ensuring confidentiality and data safety.
- Work with employees and supervisors to prevent and resolve employee relations issues, investigating allegations of wrongdoing.
- Ensure the employee manual is up-to-date and communicate changes to staff.
- Strong understanding of Zambian labour law and HR best practices
- Experience in HR management, preferably in a similar industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work closely with managers and staff to drive business objectives
Qualifications/Experience:
- Grade 12 School certificate
- Degree in Human Resource Management
- 5 years and above experience in Human Resource Management
- A Full member of ZIHRM with a valid Practice certificate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of labour laws and regulations in Zambia
- Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus
- A strong and excellent knowledge of all Human Resource Functions
