Seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across our steel manufacturing and electricity generation operations. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational development.
Responsibilities or duties
- Oversee the full HR function
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company objectives
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and manpower planning
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes professionally
- Ensure compliance with Zambian labour laws, statutory requirements, and industry regulations
- Oversee payroll inputs, attendance systems, and staff welfare programs
- Provide guidance and support to department heads on HR matters
- Manage performance evaluation systems and staff development initiatives
- Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports for management
- Foster a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work culture
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration
- Member of ZIHRM (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of Zambia labour laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Experience needed
- Minimum 5 years of HR management or senior HR officer experience in manufacturing, construction, mining, or industrial environments
