HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (1 POSITION)
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting our HR department in various functions such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR policies and procedures. You will work closely with employees and managers across the organization to ensure that our HR processes are efficient, effective, and compliant with applicable regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting employee performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees and managers. You will also be responsible for tracking equipment and other assets to ensure that they are properly accounted for and maintained. In this role, you will also need to have a thorough understanding of HR regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices. You will be responsible for ensuring that our HR processes and procedures comply with Zambian laws and regulations.
This position reports directly to the Manager and Managing Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees and managers
- Track and maintain employee equipment and assets
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with applicable HR regulations
- Provide support for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Provide guidance to employees on HR-related matters, such as benefits, policies, and procedures
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related matters
- Drafting employee contracts
Skills:
Organizational Skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High organizational skills and ability to work under extreme pressure and multitasking.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- The ability to manage complex schedules and logistics.
- Excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail
Technical:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software’s including Excel and Word
- Ability to use HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) system such as Sage Evolution will be a bonus.
- Computer Literate
Social:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and written,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma / Advanced Cert in Human Resources
- Professional Qualification and membership of an internationally recognized Institute or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years working experience.
- Registered with Zambian Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIRHM)
- Thorough understanding of immigration, PYE tax laws, NAPSA and NHIMA (compliance and policy)
