Overall Purpose of the Role
The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for ensuring the availability, stability, and security of the organization's server infrastructure. This role supports the efficient running of critical business applications by managing and maintaining server systems and associated services across multiple operating environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal performance, availability, and accessibility of servers and systems across Unix, Linux, and Windows platforms
- Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot server infrastructure to maintain high service levels
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software
- Ensure infrastructure complies with IT security policies and business continuity standards
- Manage storage solutions, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support infrastructure-related projects
- Document configurations, procedures, and network diagrams to maintain updated technical records
- Contribute to IT governance by applying knowledge of ITIL and COBIT 5 frameworks
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related IT field
- Professional Registration: Must be a member of ICTAZ (Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, supporting server environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows Operating Systems
Key Skills and Competencies
- Solid understanding of Storage Area Network (SAN) environments
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks: ITIL and COBIT 5
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Sales & Market Development Support and execute the country’s sales strategy, emphasizing direct channels and online platforms. Increase market share within the existing customer portfolio. Gather and present valuable market intelligence during weekly sales meetings. Develop and implement portfolio-specific sales strategies and action plans. Identify and address client objections effectively to deliver superior customer experiences. Maintain a healthy prospect pipeline and regularly convert leads into active customers across B2B and B2C segments. Manage sales calls and activities through CRM (weekly/fortnightly updates). Troubleshoot and resolve commercial and administrative issues within trade and corporate frameworks. Customer Relationship Management Increase customer engagement through direct interaction (B2B & B2C). Track and improve Net Promoter Score (NPS). Grow and maintain B2B and B2C customer databases. Ensure continuous support throughout the client lifecycle, maintaining long-term relationships. Teamwork & Collaboration Work seamlessly with internal Sales and Customer Experience teams. Convert partnership leads and collaborate on business development efforts.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 3–4 years of sales experience, preferably in a similar or related role. Strong background in sales and customer service, including pipeline and CRM management. Proven experience managing a diverse sales portfolio. Demonstrated commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset. Tech-savvy with knowledge of formal sales processes and CRM tools. Understanding of global and regional travel trends. Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills. Airline experience and ticketing knowledge will be a distinct advantage.
