JOB DETAILS:

The Information Technology Auditor will provide reasonable assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of system controls through executing technology, networks, and information security audits with strict adherence to MTN Mobile Money Internal Audit standards and methodologies. The job holder will support Internal Audit with data analytics needs in continuous controls monitoring and investigations.

The Information Technology Auditor will report to the Manager Internal Audit and is an individual contributor.

MTN has entered a new phase where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. MTN Mobile Money (FinCo), has been set up to drive financial products and services to expand the reach and speed of operations. There is an increased focus in the commercial areas, new products and services and scaling up of Digital capabilities. The incumbent must therefore ensure the successful delivery in context of:

• A dynamic and evolving field of Fintech/ Financial Services industry
• Revolutionary workforce practices which are bringing together global labor markets
• Convergence in markets and exploration of non-traditional revenue streams requiring complex interpretation and structuring

• Agile ways of working with shifting audit landscapes and evolution of audit approaches

Key Deliverables

The Information Technology Auditor will be accountable to achieve the following objectives in addition to any other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manage Internal Audit:

• Plan and execute technology, security, networks and operational audit engagements in accordance with MTN audit methodology.
• Execute and coordinate continuous controls monitoring including through the effective use of proactive data analytics via SQL, ACL and MS Excel.
• Assess inherent and residual technology, operational and fraud risks in the company's business through identification and evaluation of risks.
• Prepare audit reports with value adding recommendations to enable the business adequately and effectively manage key risks.
• Support investigation of fraud incidents by planning, conducting, reporting, and documenting investigations.
• Follow up on recommendations made from audits and investigations to ensure timely implementation by management.

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science /engineering or information technology 
• Professional Certification e.g. CISA, CISM or CISSP  
• A minimum of 2 years’ Information Technology Audit, progressive experience in Fintech, banking, or Telecom environments.
• Proficiency in big data analytics using SQL, ACL and MS Excel.
• Demonstration of positive independent, objective attitude
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
• Relationship building, team spirit and customer focus
