Role Overview: To provide support, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Systems (IS) Department. This includes assisting in troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware, software systems, and other devices utilized by the IS section. The role also involves delivering help desk support to all staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine checks and ensure system uptime.
- User Management: Manage user accounts and access rights securely.
- Software & Updates: Install, configure, and update software systems.
- Asset Management: Track IT equipment and software licenses.
- Documentation: Maintain records of issues, resolutions, and user guides.
- Training & Onboarding: Support users with IT training and promote best practices.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with departments and escalate complex issues.
- Security & Compliance: Support cybersecurity efforts and respond to incidents.
Requisite Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum Diploma in Information Systems or equivalent (degree is an advantage)
- 3–5 years’ experience in IS support, networking, and hardware/software maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and planning skills are essential.
